Happy Thanksgiving from Rust Craft!

Continuing my tradition of celebrating with Rust Craft holiday cards, here is a Thanksgiving offering from the 1950s. Yes, that is a plastic ear of corn on the front of the card. Rust Craft was known for its clever cards featuring 3D elements, pop-ups and whimsical artwork. The company’s later creations were not nearly as interesting. I hope you enjoyed this holiday greeting from Dedham’s past; have a GRAND Thanksgiving Day!

Rust Craft was the front door to our childhood recreation. Fall football on the front lawn, summer swimming and winter playing hockey at the pits. Good Times!

My mom worked at Rust Craft. I don’t know what department but she always seemed to be the one to supply those fold-out paper decorations for showers, etc. Thanks for the blog, history, and memories.

I worked there for 3 years after graduating Mass Art college; starting in 1968. Went on to painting in watercolor full time. Have a few teaching videos on painting and books. Website: http://www.annpember.com
